2022 JUBILARIANS

Sister Mary Zachary Endress, SC
80th Jubilee

Celebrating 80 years of religious life, Sister Mary Zachary Endress, SC continues to carry a cheerful sense of humor in the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill. She served as an educator in the dioceses of Altoona-Johnstown, Greensburg and Pittsburgh for 51 years, with her longest tenure at St. James School in Pittsburgh’s West End.

She also taught in the Pittsburgh diocese at Bishop Boyle High School, St John the Baptist and Mon Valley Catholic High School. She spent some time tutoring at Westmoreland County Community College and teaching evening classes at the Westmoreland County Community Jail.

At 97 years old, she attends mass daily; enjoys reading, solving puzzles and helping around Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill.

She has recently reflected, “Nothing contributes more to my humility than remembering God’sblessings. I do not think that eternity will be long enough for me to give thanks.”
