+Sister Norberta Kralosky, OSF
75th Jubilee

Sister Norberta (Veronica) Kralosky entered the School Sisters of St. Francis in 1945 from St. Gabriel Parish on Pittsburgh’s Northside. She professed her first vows in 1947 and was assigned to St. Mark Parish School in McKees Rocks. Her final profession was in 1952. Sister held a bachelor’s degree in education from Mount Mercy College (now Carlow University) and a master’s degree in education from Duquesne University.

Sister Norberta taught and was a principal in various elementary schools in the Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Erie dioceses. She later ministered as teacher and then director of several parish religious education programs in those dioceses and in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Sister served as the principal of a parish preschool for a number of years and then worked as a manager for Christian Housing Ministries in several Pittsburgh senior high rises. In her retirement, she was a faithful participant in prayer ministry.

At the time of her death in June 2022, Sister Norberta was preparing to celebrate her 75th Jubilee. She was 93.

+Sister Francesca Parana, OSF
75th Jubilee

Sister M. Francesca (Mary Louise) Parana, entered the School Sisters of St. Francis from St. John the Baptist Parish in Barnesboro, Pa., in 1946 and professed her first vows in 1947. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Mount Mercy College (now Carlow University) and a master’s degree in U.S. history from Duquesne University.

Sister Francesca taught and was a principal at elementary schools in the dioceses of Allentown, Erie, Greensburg and Pittsburgh, and, on the secondary level, in San Antonio, Texas. She was also a parish organist and choir director. She served her community as vocation directress, novice directress, director of associates, provincial minister and provincial vicar. She also served as general vicar in Rome from 1983 to 1989, and was instrumental in establishing the Catholic Sisters Leadership Council of Western PA (formerly known as Tri-Di). Since retiring in 2015, she remained a faithful participant in prayer ministry.

At the time of her death in July 2022, Sister Francesca was preparing to celebrate her 75th Jubilee. She was 92.
