Sister Margaret Mary Siegfried, HM
80th Jubilee

Sister Margaret Mary Siegfried is celebrating a Jubilee of Thanksgiving for all the graces and blessings of the past 80 years of religious life. She was born July 29, 1924, in Canton, Ohio, and baptized on August 10, 1924, as Dorothy Rita Siegfried at St. John the Baptist Church, Canton. She entered the Sisters of the Humility of Mary on September 8, 1942.

Sister went on to earn a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and served as a pharmacist at St. Joseph Riverside Hospital in Warren, Ohio, and at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. After retiring from the pharmacy in 1994, she volunteered at St. Elizabeth in several different departments.

Sister Margaret Mary continues to volunteer her time at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and serves in the HM Ministry of Prayer with her sisters at Villa Maria Community Center in Villa Maria, Pa.

Sister Mary Stanco, HM
25th Jubilee

Sister Mary Stanco is celebrating 25 years of religious life as a Sister of the Humility of Mary. She entered from St. Bernadette Church in Westlake, Ohio. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in library and information science. Sister Mary also earned a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve’s Mandel School of Social Science Management of Nonprofit Organizations in 2003.

She ministered in the Cleveland area for a number of years before serving as a regional site director for Notre Dame Mission Volunteer-AmeriCorps in Baltimore from 2009 to 2012 and then as director of Humility of Mary Volunteer Service from 2012 to 2018, working with young adult volunteers and service sites.

Sister Mary currently serves as the executive director of Women of Providence in Collaboration out of her office at Villa Maria Community Center in Villa Maria, Pa., where she ministers with sisters from 10 Providence communities from the United States and Canada. She also is pursuing certification as a life coach through a program with the Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh.
