2026 JUBILARIANS
SISTER KATHLEEN DELANEY, SC
75th Jubilee
Sister Kathleen Delaney, SC, celebrates 75 years of religious life marked by faith, dedication, and a lifelong commitment to serving others. Raised in a family of nine children in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood, she was inspired by the example of her parents and the Sisters of Charity who taught her throughout her school years. During her senior year of high school, a Sister of Charity invited her to consider religious life, a call she embraced by entering the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill on September 8, 1951.
Much of Sister Kathleen’s ministry was devoted to Catholic education, teaching primary grades in several dioceses. Among her greatest joys was preparing children to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion, helping them deepen their relationship with God during these important moments of faith.
Following a sabbatical experience in Massachusetts, Sister Kathleen began a new chapter of ministry serving low-income senior citizens through affordable housing programs. Whether managing Etna Commons or assisting residents at Germaine Harbor, she found fulfillment in listening to seniors’ stories and accompanying them in their daily lives.
As she celebrates her Jubilee, Sister Kathleen gives thanks for a vocation filled with meaningful relationships, faithful service, and countless opportunities to share God’s love with others.

Inspired by faith, joy, and devotion to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, she felt called to religious life and entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill on September 8, 1951.
Following her novitiate, Sister Louise returned to nursing studies and went on to spend much of her ministry as a nurse, nurse educator, and healthcare leader. She also served in vocation ministry, on the Provincial Council, and later dedicated herself to preserving the congregation's rich history as community archivist. Throughout every assignment, she embraced new opportunities with enthusiasm and a genuine love for people.
Reflecting on her vocation, Sister Louise describes religious life as an exciting journey. She has witnessed many significant moments in the life of the Church and the congregation, including the canonization of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the growth of the mission in South Korea.
