Sisters of the Holy Spirit
2024 JUBILARIAN
Sister Norma Marie Rodriguez, SHS
50th Jubilee
Having left New York in 1994, Sister Norma has been serving the fragile in the Pittsburgh area ever since. Inspired by her Godmother, she felt the promptings of the Holy Spirit early in her life and developed a sincere love for Jesus that she shares with all.
After her years of service at Marian Manor nursing home, in 2011 she began her present ministry to the homebound in the Bloomfield area. There she walks to reach those in need, stopping to talk to passersby, offering an attentive ear to anyone who wants to share their stories, and offering everyone her remarkable smile that comes from her love of Jesus. She also has been sitting with the dying as they make their final journey to the Father.
“Expressing Jesus’ love to the people and seeing them reflect it back is such a joy,” Sister Norma Marie says. “Jesus is at the heart of it all.”
She is unassuming and expresses her charism with an open and listening heart. Her sincerest hope is for a future that finds many more women willing to offer their lives in service to God’s people.
