The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR Region IV) is sponsoring a Gift of Water Public Witness from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 14, at Allegheny Landing in Pittsburgh. Gather with Catholic Sisters from our region near the confluence of the Three Rivers and help to clean up the river trail.

Coinciding with the International Day of Action for Rivers and the conclusion of Catholic Sisters Week (March 8-14), the event is in being held in response to Pope Francis’ universal call to “care for our common home.”

“We want to thank God for the gifts we’ve been given, ask forgiveness for all the ways we have damaged (even destroyed) these gifts, and pray for the courage to protect our water and all our environmental world from harm,” says Sister Mary Parks, a member of LCWR and the leadership team of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden.
