Catholic Sisters Week, celebrated annually March 8-14 , shines a light on the spirituality, mission and community building of women religious. During this week and beyond, Catholic Sisters in western Pennsylvania invite you to pray with us for our Church, as well as poor and oppressed persons, immigrants, asylum seekers, and all in need of God’s love, peace and mercy. You are also invited to join us for local Catholic Sisters Week projects and events listed below. More information about Catholic Sisters Week can be found at catholicsistersweek.org.
THE MIGRANT CHRIST PRAYER
Join Sisters throughout Pennsylvania in turning the spotlight on our country’s immigration crisis by praying The Migrant Christ Prayer, an original prayer by Sister Patti Rossi, CSJ. Women religious will recite the prayer individually and in community at noon on Wednesday, March 11 — the midpoint of Catholic Sisters Week 2020. Print your own copy of the prayer and join in — wherever you are — at the same time, anytime throughout the week and beyond! In the video at left, Sister Patti recites this special prayer.
Pittsburgh St. PAtrick's Day Parade - March 14, 2020
Come cheer on our Sisters at one of the country's largest St. Patrick's Day celebration! Around 30 Sisters will participate in Pittsburgh's St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 14. Our 10th year as participants, this festive event is an opportunity to honor the dedicated services of all Catholic Sisters and bring attention to the needs of those served by Sisters and our ministries.
