Bread for the World Hunger Advocacy Workshop

  • Kearns Spirituality Center 9000 Babcock Boulevard Pittsburgh, PA, 15237 United States (map)

Hard times call us to come together in faith to address hunger in our communities. Therefore, the Southwest Pennsylvania chapter of Bread for the World welcomes you to an advocacy workshop at Kearns Spirituality Center on Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme of the workshop is Rising to the Challenge.

Russell Redding, Pennsylvania’s secretary of agriculture, will join us to explore the impact of HR 1 (“the Big, Beautiful Bill”) on hunger in our commonwealth. Lisa Scales, head of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, will be among the local experts exploring the shape of hunger in our own neighborhoods.

The event is free. Lunch at the end is optional for a fee. For more information and registration, visit bit.ly/bread2026. Questions also may be directed to Rev. Liddy Barlow, executive minister at Christian Associates, at 412-688-9070 or lbarlow@casp.org; or Joyce Rothermel at 412-780-5118 or rothermeljoyce@gmail.com.
