Are you looking for a chance to change the hearts of others while growing in your own faith and experiencing a change of heart yourself? The Change A Heart Franciscan Volunteer Program, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, invites you to be a part of their 11-month service experience that empowers young adults to live simply in community while serving a vulnerable population. Change A Heart is one of three Catholic young adult service programs in southwest Pennsylvania that invites recent college graduates to live and serve in the Franciscan spirit.
Change A Heart welcomes women and men who are committed to experiencing service, simplicity, spirituality, and community in the Franciscan tradition. A Change A Heart service year can be challenging at times, but it is also rewarding and fulfilling. While there is no typical member background, each individual brings a unique story, experience, and history to the program. Interested individuals of all work experiences, educational backgrounds, ethnicities, and residential locations encouraged to apply.
Individuals between ages 21 and 30 who are honest, communicative, flexible, open to growth, and willing to build bridges between people who are different from themselves are encouraged to apply. While the majority of members may be people of faith, this is not a requirement for program participation.
Deadline to apply for the 2018-2019 service year is June 1.
